Singapore Botanic Garden

It's been quite a while since I went to the Singapore Botanic Garden (SBG) for my morning walk. Today, there was time and a desire to move away from West Coast Park led me to this centrally located garden that is in the process of applying for the UNESCO World Heritage site. I hope that we will be successful in our bid to own our first World Heritage site. I do not know what the guidelines are but I imagine that a Heritage site will have interesting stories to tell other than being able to present the outstanding contents within its compound. In other words, I believe that a visit to a World Heritage site has to be an educational one. We have many interesting facts and stories and even myths embedded in the excellent variety of trees, plants and buildings present in the garden but these are not coming through to me. It's one thing to look at an interesting plant or tree and something else when you do not get to learn anything from the experience on your own, without a guide. Apart from the lack of information or educational value, visiting the SBG was like a visit to any other park. Still, for me it was pleasant to be amongst such lovely trees and greenery.

Our national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim blooming beautifully.

A drone was being flown above this area and making an awful noise.
